placenta links the embryo to the mother through umbilical cord in placenta the embroyo's blood vessels are not joined .because ,because the two sets of blood vessles are closed to each other substance like o2,nutrition and weastes can pass between two the blood supplies.

placenta have ,watery liquid ,umbilical cord and embroyo.
