Merits
1. It give every party equal chance to compete with each other
2. The government will work properly because they want to be in power. If did not work properly then they might lose in next election
Demerits
1. This type competition create a kind of social division on the basis of the party. In our city there are many people who some party often had a clash with the people who support other party.
2. This also instigate the leaders to use unfair way to win the election.
