merits:
the main aim of green revolution is to increase the production.
by using hyv seeds farmer get large production in small area of land
they also get much profit

demerits:
in green revolutions people use hyv seeds so they want more and more water.so the darg more water from ground by digging borewells.so the ground water level will be decreased.
by using hyv seeds and fertilizers the fertility of will be lost..

1) Uses of advanced technology I.e,HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers, pesticides , well developed system of irrigation etc increased the production of food grains solving the problem of food crisis

2)It led to higher income growth and reduced poverty

Demerits of Green revolution

1) HYV seeds need plenty of Water and chemical fertilizers

2)It is associated with the loss of soil fertility due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers
