Representative Democracy is the most common form of democracy. The following are the reasons for this assertion:

It allows us to elect representatives, who have knowledge and judgment specialized to a definite field. 

Representatives and parties are also able to arbitrate between the different pressure groups and sections of society.

The helplessness of minorities disappears in a representative democracy, as their needs and demands also receive due consideration.

Representative democracy can make better sense of demands of the citizens and convert them into practical plan.
