\textbf{Features of Arthropoda :}

→ Level of organization :- They have organ level of organisation system.

→ Symmetry and germ layer :- Bilateral symmetry and Triploblastic.

a) Bilateral symmetry :- The body can be divided into two similar halves by a single plane.

b) Triploblastic :- In which three layers are present namely; endoderm, ectoderm and mesoderm.

→ Body cavity :- Body cavity around the viscera contains blood is called haemoceal. Coelom is greatly reduced.

→ Digestive tract :- It is complete. It has 3 distinct regions.

→ Respiratory tract :- Respiration may occur through body surface, trachea, and gills.

→ Circulatory system :- It is of open type. Blood called haemolymph, in which WBCs are present having a tubular heart.

→ Segmentation :- They have segments.

→ Appendages :- Appendages are joined feet. Due to their jointed feet they have their name.

→ Excretory System :- They excrete through malphigian tube. Landforms are uriotelic and aquatic forms are amminiotelic.

→ Example :- Crabs, Prawns, Spiders, Insects etc...
