Plate tectonics is the theory that Earth's outer shell is divided into several plates that glide over the mantle, the rocky inner layer above the core. The plates act like a hard and rigid shell compared to Earth's mantle. This strong outer layer is called the lithosphere.

Movement of tectonic plates are convergent, divergent and. Transform
Convergent - when plates come towards each other and colloid against each other
Divergent- when plates move awayfrm each other
Transform - when plates horizontally past each other

Type of movement of tectonic plate are
1.divergent movement
2.convergent Movement

Divergent movement create gap in Atlantic ocean basin. Along this gap magma comes out of the earth it is known lava. As the lava come in contact with cold water of ocean, it cool quickly and harden to form a part ocean floor which is called mid- Atlantic radge

Convergent movement
Colliding plate exert pressure on both side of plate boundary. The pressure cause the rock strata to buckle and band. The bend rock strate then rise above the neighboring low lands to form fold mountain.
