What are the muscle tissues? what are the
three types of muscles found in human beings?Explain
Answers
- Muscle tissue is composed of cells that have the special ability to shorten or contract in order to produce movement of the body parts. The tissue is highly cellular and is well supplied with blood vessels.
- Muscle tissue can be categorized into skeletal muscle tissue, smooth muscle tissue, and cardiac muscle tissue.
- Skeletal muscle is an excitable, contractile tissue responsible for maintaining posture and moving the orbits, together with the appendicular and axial skeletons. It attaches to bones and the orbits through tendons. Excitable tissue responds to stimuli through electrical signals.
- Cardiac muscle tissue is only found in your heart, where it performs coordinated contractions that allow your heart to pump blood through your circulatory system.
- Smooth muscle is a type of muscle tissue which is used by various systems to apply pressure to vessels and organs. Smooth muscle is composed of sheets or strands of smooth muscle cells. These cells have fibers of actin and myosin which run through the cell and are supported by a framework of other proteins.

QUESTION :what are the three types of muscles found in human beings ?Explain
ANSWER : There are three types of muscles present in the human body. Striated muscle- The muscles when stained show alternate light and dark bands under the microscope are called striated muscles. Such muscles are attached to bones hence, called skeletal muscles. These muscles are under control of conscious will hence, called voluntary muscles. These muscles are long, cylindrical, unbranched and multinucleate.
Smooth muscle- The muscles when stained do not show alternate light and dark bands under the microscope. Therefore, called smooth muscles. They are not controlled by conscious will. Hence, called involuntary muscles also. Cells of smooth muscles are long with pointed ends and are uninucleate.
Cardiac muscles- These muscles are of the involuntary type. But their cell shape differs as being cylindrical, branched and uninucleate.
