lichen is a combination of fungusand/or algae and/or cyanobacteria has a very different form (morphology), physiology, and biochemistry than any of the constituent species growing separately. The algae or cyanobacteriabenefit their fungal partner by producing organic carbon compounds through photosynthesis

hey mate ☺

the mutual advantage gain by algae and fungi in lichen are as followed :

algae provide food material to the fungi , as algae contain chlorophyll , while fungi doesn't contain any chlorophyll .

fungi provide support to the algae , to remain at a particular place.

I hope it will help you✌
