Tigers never lose their natural instincts, and while captive tigers may not have to put these instincts to use as they are fed regularly and most of their needs are being met ( ideally), those instinct - driven behaviors are never far from the surface.

The natural instincts of a tiger are-

A) territories - Within their territory, a tiger may have a number of dens in caves, hollow trees, and dense vegetation. – This is an instinctive behavior that allows them to protect themselves from danger. They can hide easily from harm and mark their territories by excretes.

B) night hunting- tigers have really sensitive eyes and can see better during the night.Tigers usually hunt at night. They ambush their prey overpowering them from any angle, using their body size and strength to knock large prey off balance
– A learned behavior through habituation that allows tigers to be more successful in hunting their preys.

C) ears- When alert to sounds, the tiger’s ears perk up and efficiently funnel sounds to the inner ear.
– This allows tigers to communicate more effectively.
