In human being 31 pairs of spinal nerves arise from spinal cord. They are divided in five groups:

1. cervical- 8 pairs at neck
(c1 to c8)

2. Thoracic- 12 pairs at thorax
(T1 to T12)

3.Lumbar- 5 pairs at Abdomen
(L1 to L5)

4.Sacral- 5 pairs at pelvis
(S1 to S5)

5.Coccygeal- 1 pair at coccyx
(co1)
