Objectives of tillage operation:

  • Tillage is the process by which soil is irrigated and ploughed to a good extent to increase the yield of crops.
  • Several tillage's are done to increase irrigation. The primary tillage is done to get good depth of soil for the crops. It also gets the crop residues, also to kill weeds, and properly aerate the soil.
  • The secondary and further tillage is done after applying the fertilizers, even break the soil particles to a finer extent, for surface leveling, and remove further weeds.
