Organelles are small structures within the cytoplasm that carry out functions necessary to maintain homeostasis in the cell. They are involved in many processes, for example energy production, building proteins and secretions, destroying toxins, and responding to external signals.

Answer:every cell need a lot of chemical activities to support their complicated structure and function .to keep this activity of different kind to separate from each other , these cells use membrane bound organelles which perform specific function . some organelles present in a cell are endoplasmic reticulam , golgi apparatus , lysosomes , mitochondria , plastids , vacuoles etc.
