A relation in which one experiences profit and other loss. This is known as parasitism, hence cuscuta a parasite enters the vascular system of the host plant and sucks the water and food from the host plant. Its roots are embedded deep inside and hence it is difficult to remove it, as it grows again and again and harms the host plant

Parasitism. After a dodder attaches itself to a plant, it wraps itself around it. If the host contains food beneficial to dodder, the dodder produces haustoria that insert themselves into the vascular system of the host. The original root of the dodder in the soil then dies.
