Answer:

The respiratory system is the network of organs and tissues that help you breathe. It includes your airways, lungs, and blood vessels. The muscles that power your lungs are also part of the respiratory system. These parts work together to move oxygen throughout the body and clean out waste gases like carbon dioxide.

In human respiratory system ,the following are the parts involved in respiration:

  1. nostrils(small openings in the nose which lets the air to enter our body)
  2. nasal cavity(cilia-helps in filtration of gases)
  3. pharynx(common passage for both food and air)
  4. larynx(sound box-contains vocal cords which helps to produce sound)
  5. epiglottis(helps the air to enter trachea and let food doesn't get into the trachea)
  6. Trachea(passage for air to enter lungs)
  7. bronchii(enterings of lungs)
  8. bronchioles(branches of bronchii present inside the lungs)
  9. alveoli(gaseous exchange takes place here where the blood capillaries take up oxygen and expel carbondioxide)
  10. blood(carries oxygen and collects co2 to each and every cell of the body)

  • the passage from nostrils to alveoli is moist and warm
