1 VERTICAL COMMUNICATION

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM OR BOTTOM TO TOP

I.E TOP MANAGEMENT TO DEPARTMENT MANAGERS , DEPT MANAGERS TO SUPERVISORS, THEN TO EMPLOYEES AND SO ON ,

BOTTOM TO TOP MEANS EMPLOYEES TO SUPERVISORS, SUPERVISORS TO DEPT MANAGERS AND SO ON.

2 HORIZONTAL COMMUNICATION

BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT MANAGERS, OR THE EMPLOYEES , BETWEEN THE TOP MANAGEMENT

Introduction:

The process of conveying information and understanding from one person to another is referred to as communication.

Explanation:

The sender (Group Leader) can connect with the receivers (group members) who present next to him/her in the Circle pattern. No other group members can receive the sender's message directly, but they can get messages from other group members who are sharing the sender's message. In this pattern of communication, the sender's messages move around the group via sharing by its members, taking time to reach the sender again.

The same issues appeared in the Chain pattern as they did in the Circle motif. The worst element of the pattern is that the last member receives the leader's updated communications. Because there is no feedback to detect the message distortion, the leader cannot determine if the final member received the proper information or not.

The Y pattern is more intricate and has the communication difficulty that exists in both the circle and chain patterns. The group is divided into three sections, and group members can only contact with other members of the group through the leader.

When compared to the other three patterns, the Wheel pattern is the best. The leader has direct contact with all of the group members, and there are no communication issues, time constraints, or group member comments. However, none of the members of the group can communicate with one another.
