The Journal of Applied Ecology launched a major new initiative in 2011 to bridge the gap between applied ecological research and practical environmental management. The Practitioner’s Perspective series provides a platform for individuals involved in hands-on management of ecological resources, to explain what is needed to ensure effective take-up of the results of research.
