The conceit of “More About People” is how it is human nature to make people have to do something if we have to. In the poem, it states “It seems to be very irking, to people at work to see other people not working” implying that people get mad when they have to do something, like work, and another person doesn’t. Then it says, “So they tell you that work is a wonderful medicine”. Here it is explaining that when people see you not doing what they have to, like doing a job they hate to earn money, they make it so you have to as well. They do this by making it near impossible for you to live, or as the poems says “And then if you don’t succumb they starve you to death or something.”.
