A point of intersection with the y-axis is a point where the graph crosses the y-axis. There can be no or one point on the y-axis – there's never more than one point on the y-axis! Let's take an example: The points of intersection with the x-axis: (–5, 0); (4, 0).

The points where there is intersection of two graphs are called the origin.
- There are two axes for a two-dimensional graph.
- They are called x-intercept and y-intercept.
- X-intercept: It is the point where the graph crosses the x-axis.
- Y-intercept: It is the point where the graph crosses the y-axis.
- There are other co-ordinates too depending on the dimensions of the graph formed.
- The co-ordinates at origin: (x,y) = (0,0)
