Post cold war, India adopted a foreign policy of making groups with developing countries and formed associations like BRICS and IBSA.   They made special agreement with ASEAN member countries and SAARC summits.  India adopted a New Economic Policy in the year 1991 by removing barriers for entry of FDI  ( Foreign Direct Investment ) and joining the G-20 nations.
