What are the powers of president and prime minister?

President of India is the head of the government and supreme commander of armed forces. His powers can be classified into several heads such as executive powers, legislative powers, financial powers, judicial powers, Diplomatic powers, Military powers as well as emergency powers.

 a Prime Minister of India who shall be appointed by the President. Prime Minister is the leader of the Cabinet Ministers. The main executive powers of the government are vested in the Prime Minister while the President is the nominal head of the State.

he chairs the cabinet
presides over cabinet meetings
he has the main power
he is the head of lok sabha
if he quits then entire ministry has to quit
he supervises and distributes the work to different ministers..



powers of president:-
president has nominal power
he appoints the judges to supreme court and high court
he appoints the chief justice
he appoints the the election commission
he has some discretion powers to use in an exception case.
