When people in amritsar gathered to celebrate annual baisakhi festival in jallian wala bagh on april 13,1919 suddenly general dyer who was military official of entered bagh with his soldiers ,blocked the exit points and ordered open fire on the people present their by which 1000 of people were killed and many were wounded .
