1.Acid should be added to water and not water to acid.
------> Dilution is an highly exothermic reaction, Acids are very corrosive in nature. If water is added to acid, a lot of heat is evolved and this can result in the splashing of acid , which can cause accident. Thus acid should be added to water, so that the heat so evolved, can be absorbed by water.
2. Gloves , Glasses and other accident preventive measures should be taken.
