1) The bob of pendulum should be displaced with a small angle.

2) The amplitude of the oscillation of a simple pendulum should be small.

3) Fans should be switched off to reduce the air resistance.

4)The simple pendulum should be oscillate in a vertical plane only.

Here are some precautions to be observed while doing the simple pendulum experiment:

• To measure the length of the pendulum, take it from the centre of mass of the plumbob
• The top support should be fixed.
• Count the time in the clock from zero not 1
• Make sure to prepare a pre result table and check it with new results.
• Record the readings at least 3 times to get accurate results.
