Government should take adequate steps in improving the problems faced by the common people. Some of the problems faced by people are
Poor quality of commodities supplied
Malpractice done by shop owners. As the name of the shop is “ Fair shops” but the shop owners are not fair. They are doing illegal works by supplying the products to known persons or for few tips by accounting on common man’s account. For ex: My mother don’t buy free rice in ration shops. But they are accounting in my families account just by distributing to some other for money.
More wastage
Both central and state governments holds the responsibility in distributing the commodities. Central government procures, stores and transfer to state govt where state govt distributes to people. State govt allocates the products with respect to status of the people. But when issuing the rations cards more fraudulent works are being done. A person holds more than one ration card is illegal. These works should be abolished in order to make the system effective.
Proper system should come in place for identifying the people below poverty line , above poverty line etc. Few color codes are used to identifying the status of people. But the authentication should be done in these nature of cards.
Person name who expires are not being removed from the list ,results in more loss to the govt.
