floods are one of the most destructive of all forms of natural disasters causing heavy , economic and heavy losses. it causes- 1) continuous heavy rain 2) bad drainage facility 3) blocking of river channels by land slides 4) narrowness of the river 5) change in the course of river 6)inefficient engineering designs in the construction of embankments , dams , channels . 7) destruction of mangroves and tropical trees which do not grow back. 8) deforestation and removal of root system 9) silting of river bed 10) rapid urbanisation 11) tsunami
