As the Modern Farming Methods require a lot of Money so the large or medium farmers could use them as they are having savings but the small farmers cannot use these Modern Farming Methods due to lack of Money so they have to borrow money from the traders or large farmers of their village but the large farmers demand a high rate of interest on giving loans to small farmers, so it is very difficult for the small farmers to repay those loans and at times it results in making the small farmers more poor than before.

These small farmers constitute about 80 percent of total farmers in India but due to the high price of new farming methods and high rate of interests on loans, they find it difficult to obtain money for imbibing new techniques of farming. Also, as their plots are of small size so their production is not enough. Due to the lack of surplus they are not able to obtain money from their own savings and that is why they have to borrow it from large farmers. Due to the repayment of these loans they end up being more poor and therefore they have to do more work to fulfill their daily needs.
