REACTANTS GIVEN:- Magnesium (Mg) and hydrochloric acid (Hcl).

So, the reaction that follows when these both reactants react will be as follows:-

Mg(s) + Hcl (aq) -------> MgCl2 (aq.) + H2 (g).

Balanced equation:

Mg(s) + 2Hcl (aq) -------> MgCl2 (aq.) + H2 (g).

For the testing of the Gas that's liberated during the reaction we will take the burning candle near the tube or beaker where the gas is liberated then it will blow out with a pop sound indicating that the gas liberated is hydrogen.
