Properties of ionic compounds:

(1) Physical state:

Ionic compounds are crystalline solids at room temperature.

(2) Solubility:

They are soluble in polar solvents like water, liquid Ammonia, etc

(3) Reactivity:

The reactions between aqueous solutions and ionic compounds are very fast.

(4) Isomerism:

Ionic bond is non directional hence they don't exhibit isomerism.

(5) Electrical conductivity:

They are bad conductors of electricity in solids but are good conductors in liquids.

(6) Their melting and boiling points are high.
