Our standard meridian is taken from uttar pardesh (mirzapur) . It's longitudinal extent is 82°30'E. Our is used to take from mirzapur because there is a longitudinal gap between the gujrat and arunachal pradesh is 30° . The sun rises 2 hours early in arunachal pradesh.To remove the time confusion we takes the our standard meridian from mirzapur.Hope it will help you.
