hell... ooo

Quartz is a chemical compound consisting of one part silicon and two parts oxygen. It is silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is the most abundant mineralfound at Earth's surface, and its unique properties make it one of the most useful natural substances

Color. Quartz occurs in virtually every color. Common colors are clear, white, gray, purple, yellow, brown, black, pink, green, red.
StreakColorless (harder than the streak plate)
LusterVitreous
DiaphaneityTransparent to translucent
CleavageNone - typically breaks with a conchoidal fracture
Mohs Hardness 7
Specific Gravity2.6 to 2.7Diagnostic PropertiesConchoidal fracture, glassy luster, hardness
Chemical CompositionSiO2Crystal SystemHexagonal
UsesGlass making, abrasive, foundry sand, hydraulic fracturing proppant, gemstones

hope this helps you....!!

Here we go with the properties of Quartz :--

1. It is capable of scratching most other minerals.
2 .Quartz has instead conchoidal fracture.
3. It can form various gems. Certain impurities and compositions of quartz can form different gems.
4. it is the second most abundant mineral in the earths CRUST.
5. It is so hard.

Hope me answer will help you...
Thank you.

MacTavish343: very useful point
pakhi6: Thanks

sidratariq501: 1:it is pure cryslatalline form of SiO2. 2-its hard, brittle solid
csherwa: what does it is the second most abundant mineral in the earths CRUST and Quartz has instead conchoidal fracture mean ?
