In order to be chosen a member of Parliament :-

• The person should be a citizen of India

• A person must be a citizen of India and not less than 30 years of age in the case of Rajya Sabha and not less than 25 years of age in the case of Lok Sabha.

• Those who cannot become members of Parliament also cannot become members of the state legislature.

• The person should not be convicted of any offence and sentenced to an imprisonment of 2 years or more.
