Chanakya (371 – 283 BC) was a pioneer in political science and classical economics. He was also a teacher, philosopher, jurist and royal advisor. All these qualities made him a very good statesman and he shined bright, during the reign of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya and his son, Emperor Bindusara.
Chanakya’s works were lost towards the end of the Gupta empire but found during the early twentieth century.
