Man and tree are similar to each other in many ways e.g. - Both need four elements of life soil, water, air and fire(sun) to survive. - Both men and tree need relations to keep growing and producing. Like men, trees also have invisible network of relations with fungi, micro organisms, animals etc.

We are asked what qualities trees have that are common to good men. The qualities that trees share with good men are as follows:
- Trees give shade to other people when they require it similarly as good men help others when they require it.
- Trees give fruits to people to fulfill their hunger the same way that good men fed others when they feel that other people are hungry.
- As the wood of sandalwood is cut the more the sandalwood shines.
- This is similar to the good people who give away their lives for the sake of other people.
- As living without helping others is not a feature of the trees that provide us with so many things.
- Similarly, if the lives of good men are not spent helping others they feel that their lives are wasted.
