What are the radius of base and slant height of a cone made by rolling up a sector of central angle 45 degree cut out from a circle of radius 8 cm?

Answer:

Slant height of cone = radius of circle from which sector is cut

                             l=10cm

Area length of 1440 sector = 2π×radius×36001440

                                              = 2π×10×360144=8π

Circumference of the base of cone = arc length = 8πcm

∴ 2πr=8π⇒r=4cm

h=l2−r2=102−42=100−16=84=221

∴ Volume of cone = 31πr2h=31×722×4×4×221

                                = 2170421
