There can be many rational numbers between -1 and 1/2 depending on the denominator.

Rational Number- a number in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0.(example, 3/5, -2/7, etc)

Integer- any whole number and the negatives of the whole numbers.(example, -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3)

If we're keeping the denominator 2, then the rational numbers between -1 and 1/2 are : -1/2 and 0

But we can also change the denominator:

1/2=2/4

so now, the number of rational numbers increase

Now, the rational numbers between -1 and 1/2 (or 2/4) are : -3/4, -2/4, -1/4, 0 and 1/4

Thus, when the denominator increases, the number of rational numbers between two numbers also increases.
