The following main raw materials needed for manufacture of soap in a school laboratory or at home are as follows:
1.Vegetable oil (like coconut oil, cottonseed oil, Linseed oil or soyabean oil) or animal fat.
2. Caustic soda( Sodium hydroxide-NaOH ) 20%
3. Common salt (Sodium chloride-NaCl)
4. Talc as filler.
