The most common reason was that the Dutch speaking community was in majority in the whole country but in minority in the capital city, i.e., Brussels and the French speaking community was in minority in the whole country but in majority in the capital city i.e., Brussels.

The majority Dutch speaking community got all the rights much later and were also poor.

This led to disagreements and tension between the two groups in Belgium.....

The conflict between the Dutch speaking and French speaking was more severe in Brussels because here, the Dutch speaking people were majority in Belgium but a minority in Brussels. Therefore, the ethnic struggle in Belgium originated fromtensions between Dutch and French community in Belgium
