Answer:
A growing body of research on this issue points to three key factors that have limited the role of women in the Indian economy: the role of entrenched gender norms in our society, the rising incomes of men (which raises family income and makes it easier for women to quit working), and the lack of quality jobs for women

The reason is lack of recognition.
- Women spend most of their time working indoors, while men spend working outdoors. Like so, women's work is primarily confined to the private domain of households.
- Women are undervalued in general, their contribution towards household and society is still unappreciated and undervalued. Rarely an objective assessment of women's work in all of its facets conducted.
- When a statistical enumerator approaches the family to note the contribution of each member's work, they prefer to approach male family members to take note of the contribution of every member.
- Due to lack of respect for women's contributions, as well as the socialization process, male members place a lower value on women's work. As a result, enumerators are unaware of women's contributions.
