what are the reasons being used by nehru for keeping india secular ? Do you think these reasons were only ethical and sentimental? or were there some prudential reasons as well ?

yes it is true as the Nehru keep the India circular because he thinks that would be circular then only they can get freedom.

Partition was  a tragic moment that led to population transfer on a large scale. Though many Muslims left India, many continued to reside in the country as a minority. Jawaharlal Nehru advocated the democratic rights and security of Muslims as the citizens of India. Hence, these reasons were ethical and sentimental both as well as prudential too abiding by the principles of socialism, equality, liberty, fraternity and above all secularism.
