The reasons for the dissonance could have been Government probing into and stating to the consumers that the product is not up to the standard prescribed or customer service would not have been good. Eg., Production of Maggie was banned because it did not meet the required standards. This caused dissonance in consumers mind. Later, the company was able to get back its customers by advertising in the media and by giving Freebies. The company advertised stating the improvement made to the product. Transparency always helps the customer to believe in the product. Transparency stated through media, has a large impact. It is also marketed by word of mouth or via pamphlets.
