1)the soil was moist and had a lot of minerals in it so it was easier for the growth of plant as most of the civil used to be farmers
2)The water supply was there so they won’t have to go on long routes
3)There was lesser chance of drought as it was near a river
4)the mud was moist and hard enough to make mud houses
