The reasons for female foeticide are :
1 The people are not aware and not literate so illiteracy is the main reason.
2 Another reason is the mentality of the people . They think that girl child is a burden on them and they would have to earn for her dowry while on the other hand boy is considered to be the earning hand of the family .
