general and families in particular.
 
He introduced education for girls and the right to work for women. He improved the health care services. Under Stalin, there was the first generation of Russian women giving birth in the safety of maternity hospitals, and having access to pre-natal care. He introduced many schools. Under his regime, the Soviet Union saw the first generation of literate women.
