day agriculture?
DSERT Class 10 Economics Ch. 2 Economy and Government
Answers
Both pre-harvest and post- harvest technology support from government enabled Green Revolution and benefitted farmers. But sadly, extensive use of chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides by farmers have killed the micro-organisms that keep the balance of the soil for optimum production. This affected the fertility of the soil while the havoc caused by pests and other diseases are increasing further leading to more usage of chemicals etc. leading to a vicious cycle. The only solution to this vicious cycle is to promote organic farming or natural farming. These nature friendly techniques for production have to be utilised as they are the need of the hour. The Government is supporting this technique and it is termed as ‘the Second Green Revolution’.
