It is the role of the civil service to assist, with integrity, honesty, impartiality and objectivity, principal officials under the accountability system, in formulating their policies, in carrying out their decisions and in administering public services for which they are responsible.

Public servants work for government and for citizens.

They're responsible to the elected government, not a political party. They develop and deliver public programs or services, inform policy-making, and provide evidence-based advice to leaders.
