IN THE THIRD CARNATIC WAR THE FRENCH WERE DEFEATED BY THE EAST INDIA COMPANY . THE FREANCH WERE ONLY LEFT WITH PONDICHERRY AND CHANDRANAGORE . THE COMPANY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO FORTIFY EVEN THESE TERRITORIES . THIS DECLARED THE WAY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF BRITISH RULE IN INDIA.....
