Answer:
A gender role, also known as a sex role,[1] is a social role encompassing a range of behaviors and attitudes that are generally considered acceptable, appropriate, or desirable for people based on their biological or perceived sex.[2][3] Gender roles are usually centered on conceptions of masculinity and femininity,[2] although there are exceptions and variations. The specifics regarding these gendered expectations may vary substantially among cultures, while other characteristics may be common throughout a range of cultures. There is ongoing debate as to what extent gender roles and their variations are biologically determined, and to what extent they are socially constructed

Gender roles can be defined as the behaviors, values, and attitudes that a society considers appropriate for both male and female. Traditionally, men and women had completely opposing roles, men were seen as the provider for the family and women were seen as the caretakers of both the home and the family.
Various groups, most notably the feminist movements, have led efforts to change aspects of prevailing gender roles that they believe are oppressive or inaccurate.
IMPORTANT: People often assume that “feminism” means supporting the women and their rights, this is only half correct. A feminist doesn’t believe that women are better than men, they believe that WOMEN AND MEN ARE EQUAL. Some people may wonder why the name ‘FEMINIst” then?
It’s because it’s the women who’s rights are being ignored at the moment, they need to be supported. Feminists are NOT saying the women are better than men or anything like that.
