What are the roles of plastids in the life of a plant?

Plastids are the pigment which are majorly responsible for the colour of the plant and the leaves.

They act as the site of generation of the necessary compounds and components which are necessary while conducting the process of Photosynthesis.

The chloroplast secreted in them is stored into stacked structures which are like flat capsules kept on one other.
