Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Making a line graph is not too hard.

Create a table. Draw the x- and y-axes on the page. ...

Label each axis. If time is one of the factors, it should go along the horizontal (x) axis. ...

Add data. Data for a line graph is usually contained in a two-column table corresponding to the x- and y-axes. ...

Create a key.

Line graph :

A line graph is used for displaying the relationship between two variables. The data used are measurements over a period of time such as the temperature of a patient of a series of days.

These graphs show continuous data.

Rules for drawing a line graph -

  • The graph must have a title.
  • The horizontal axis should display the independent variable (experimenter controls of cause).
  • The vertical axis should display the dependent variable (experimenter measures of effect).
  • The axes should be similar lengths and be clearly labelled with the variable that they represent.
  • The axes should be labelled with the correct units of measurement.
  • The scale on both axes should be equal, ordered intervals and start from zero (the origin) where possible.
  • If there is large gap between zero and the first reading, on either axis, the axis can be broken immediately after the zero and before the first data. a mark of // should be shown across the axis where the break occurs.
  • If points need to be plotted, plot each point accurately with an 'x' or a 'dot point'. Join the points with a line to demonstrate the trend. Unless it can be assumed to be correct, do not extend the line to the origin if the data does not start at zero. The origin is where the horizontal and vertical axes meet.
