Singles:
1. Decide who serves, be it coin toss, birdie toss or just verbal communication.
2. Serve, by starting at 0-0 and serving from the right and to the box opposite to you.
    - you should only serve diagonally, and serve "long and narrow"
    - serve below the belly button if you're playing by the rules- overhead serves are illegal
3. The rally ends when the shuttle touches the ground. Period.
    - the person who scores will serve, from the left box if he/she has an odd score, and from the right if odd.
    - the boundaries are "long and narrow"
4. Play. Rinse. Repeat. Have fun!

Doubles:
1. See singles for most pointers- except for the below points
    - serving is now "short and wide"
    - after serving, all of the back court is fair game
    - when you served last and the opponent scores, then you score again, your partner has to serve now. And vice versa.

Mansi1111: Thank you.....

Your opponent can then exercise the remaining choice. The rules of badminton states that a badminton match shall consist of the best of 3 games. In doubles and men's singles, the first side to score 15 points wins the game. In women's singles, the first side to score 11 points wins the game.
